Heaton Perk is awesome. Naomi liked the wide variety of chairs. Mikey and I played a show, and it was real nice. Shows in bars are becoming increasingly rare. I like that. It's good to drink tea and hang out and play/sing songs.

Let's save the sauce for another time.

Broken Bikes Brake Faster

I have a feeling that my bike is broken. That's sad because I'm fond of my bike. I'm going to take it for a service.
I fell off it the other day in some freak accident. I fractured a rib and hurt my finger, my leg and my hand.

I'm serious. Be careful.

One of my songs is going to be on tape comp soon. It won't be available anywhere else (not even on the internet) and there are only going to be 100 made. Short Term Effect and The Mega Games 2 and some other folks are going to be on it. I think I'm going to record the song soon. Whatever it is, I'm calling it "Onwards! Flux of Bastards!". It is a post-rock name for a not post-rock song. Discuss.
As far as post-rock goes, I like Let's Buy Happiness.

I saw 2 of them play as Ugly Pretty People at a party that I played at and they were astounding.
I mean, I say post-rock. They're post rock-ish, so don't jump down my neck or anything.

Winona Forever is playing with Short Term Effect at Heaton Perk in Heaton* on Thursday 7th of May. It starts at 7pm and will be pleasant. Come along and get some coffee. The show is free and the coffee is reasonably priced.

Today I made scrambled tofu and I am currently baking a cake.
I'm serious. Skrambled tofu is the best fucking thing. Here's how to make it.

STUFF:

1 big frying pan
1 wooden spoon
a knife

INGREDIENTS:

a bunch of mushrooms
half an onion
a block of EXTRA FIRM tofu
a couple of cloves of garlic
some spices (today i used paprika and chinese 5 spice)
some oil/margarine for cooking in (2-3 tbsp)

optional: peppers or leftover veggies, nutritional yeast is good too

GO!

a) chop yr onions, mushrooms, garlic and drain yr tofu
b) saute the onions in the oil for about 3 mins
c) crush in the garlic, add the mushrooms. Stir them aroun for about 2 mins.
d) add your spices. it should start looking and smelling even better.
e) crumble in the tofu. add a little water if everything is sticking.
f) stir for about 10-15 mins, so it goes all scrambly and soft.
g) towards the end add salt and pepper to taste (and the yeast)
